18″, (46 CM), SECOND SERIES PORTRAIT JUMEAU. Portrait Jumeau Bébé, circa early 1880s, with dark brown paperweight eyes, mauve shading on upper eyelids, closed mouth with pale shaded lips, pierced applied ears, on original fully jointed wooden composition body, with straight wrists, and eight separate ball joints. Stamped on the torso, “JUMEAU Medaille D’Or Paris”. She has been well costumed in a rust velvet one-piece dress with pleated skirt, separate sash, and laced trimmed collar and sleeves. She wears an antique blonde mohair wig over her original cork pate, and wears cotton undergarments, socks, and later red leather shoes with buckles.
