16″, (40 CM), GERMAN BISQUE FASHION LADY. Closed mouth bisque head on separate kid-lined bisque shoulder, with blue threaded paperweight eyes, nicely painted eyebrows and eyelashes. Pierced-in ears, and mounted on a white kid body with gussets at the elbows, hips, and knees. Superbly costumed in an ivory taffeta and lace trimmed two-piece walking suit in the 1870s style, wearing original blonde mohair wig over cork pate, original undergarments, and antique brown leather shoes with brass buckles. She has a white lace shawl and a stunning lavender pillbox hat with green silk flowers and a two-piece green silk ribbon adornment at back of hat. CONDITION: Faint hairline crack on shoulder plate, and paperweight eyes have been reset. 1-7211 RS (800-1,200)
