17″, (43 CM), DEP/JUMEAU BÉBÉ. Doll made for the French market probably by the firm of Simon-Halbig with an incised mark of “758 7”. Also a red stamp “Tete Jumeau”. She has extremely pale bisque with heavy blue glass sleep eyes, thick painted lower lashes, original brown silk eyelashes, thick winged eyebrows, open mouth with six upper teeth, and pierced ears. She is on her original fully-jointed wood and composition body with a red stamp on the torso, “Jumeau”. She is well re-costumed in a pale green silk brocade and lace trimmed two-piece dress with newer but nice quality auburn mohair wig, antique pale green leather shoes with buckles and pressed “4” on the sole. CONDITION: Head in excellent condition, typical paint flakes and crazing on body, especially on fingers. 1-7311 RS (500-1,000)
