STEIFF “60 PB” MONKEY. Circa 1903, this rare and large monkey has early string jointing with the horizontal rod between his shoulders, bent arms, and voice box (inoperative). Retains elephant button in ear. Plush with velvet hands, feet, ears, and face, and shoe button eyes. He has a mischievous look, supposedly imitating the smoking monkey in Albert Carre’s circus (no cigar present). SIZE: 32” t. CONDITION: Some light wear to velvet, fur is near excellent with little or no loss. Loose in the joints, but overall near excellent.
