LOT OF FIVE BAKER’S SUGAR CORN CANS. Tough to find examples of some of the first tin cans ever produced, each complete with a graphic paper label. Tops and bottoms are individually soldered as is a half dollar sized tin seal on the top. Labels read “Packed by Geo. W. Baker of Aberdeen, Maryland”. Of major historical significance is that George Washington Baker was a farmer born in 1815 who is credited with inventing the first automated canning process in the late 1860s. SIZE: 4-1/2” h.
