FREDERICK SANDS BRUNNER ORIGINAL 1942 OIL ON CANVAS. One of America’s preeminent illustrators, Brunner was well known for his Saturday Evening Post covers and WWII Red Cross posters, but also painted illustrations for Coca-Cola, Kellogg’s and Canada Dry as well. This painting captures a lighthearted wartime moment between a corporal and his trusting handlebar-saddled date, believed to have been used in a Royal Crown Cola advertisement. Reverse stretcher bears a paper label from the Ketterlinus Lithographic Co. of Philadelphia dated April 10, 1942. SIZE: Sight size 27” w x 40-1/2” h.
