LOT OF 6 AMERICAN & EUROPEAN BAYONETS. 1) French rifle bayonet with brass handle, hooked iron handguard and 21-5/8″ Yataghan blade without scabbard, probably for the Gras rifle. 2) U.S. Model 1903/1917 bayonet by Rock Island dated “1919”, SN 350768, with green leather scabbard that has iron throat & tip. 3) Rare British Brown Bess socket bayonet with 16-1/2″ triangular shaped blade and 3-7/8″ long socket, marked on blade “CAM”. 4) British Enfield No. 4 MKII spike bayonet with steel scabbard. 5) Early Springfield trapdoor rifle socket bayonet with 18″ triangle shaped blade and steel scabbard with frog and “US” marked brass hanger. 6) Springfield trapdoor rifle socket bayonet with 18″ triangle shaped blade and steel scabbard with “ROCK ISLAND” marked leather frog and “US” button. PROVENANCE: From a coastal New Jersey home. CONDITION: 1) Good, appears to be complete. 2) Good, light rust on handguard; scabbard is fine. 3) Fine, no orig finish; fine pitting. 4) Very fine. 5) Fine, leather is dry. 6) Very fine. 9-24233 (400-600)
