FLEMISH CARVED & GILT-HEIGHTENED MAHOGANY ARMCHAIR. 2nd half 19th century. The scrolling pierced crest centering an urn emitting plumes above the rectangular shaped and molded cane back, joined to molded downsloping arms with scrolled molded grips carved with belle-flowers, centering the trapezoidal caned seat, raised on blocked and turned frontal legs joined by a scrolling pierce-carved frontal stretcher, terminating in fluted Flemish feet. Many carved elements with remnants of silver gilding. SIZE: 52-3/4″ h. of back x 17-1/4″ h. of seat. CONDITION: With damages to crest, some minor damage to caning on back.
