GROUP OF MAJOLICA AND STAFFORDSHIRE ITEMS. 19th and early 20th century. The group includes 1) Two Staffordshire seated cats. 2) “TENDERNESS”, a Staffordshire bocage grouping depicting a couple with floral garland and lamb, standing in front of a tree, the word “Tenderness” on front of base. Back impressed “Walton”, (John Walton, Burslem, England), early 19th century. 3) Figural folk art pipe in the form of a woman seated with a kitten in her lap. 4) A Majolica figural ink well and pen holder in the form of a lizard with his tail wrapped around a stump. 5) A cabbage leaf advertising plate. The cabbage leaf overlaid with three bisque advertising lozenges. The underside of the leaf incised under glaze “Made in Austria/ Ernst Wahliss/ Turn. Wien.”. SIZE: 1) 7 & 7-1/2″ h. 2) 7″ h. 3) 5″ h x 6″ l. 4) 2-1/2″ h x 4-1/2″ l. 5) 2″ h x 8-3/4″ l x 8″ w. CONDITION: 1) White cat with chip to vase. Black cat with chip to ear. Otherwise appear good. 2) Restoration throughout including proper right side of bocage in tree, hands of figures and paint heightening throughout. 3) Pipe with restoration and repainting visible under ultra violet light. 4) Appears very good overall. 5) Very good overall. 9-21997 (900-1,200)
