OVAL MICROMOSAIC GILT METAL AND ENAMEL BOX. First quarter 20th century, Rome. In the style of the Belle Epoque the micromosaic top with depiction of Coliseum set within hinged oval lid opening to silk lined interior, stamped in gold lettering beneath the shield “C. ROCCHEGGIANI/ROMA”. Frieze with polychrome enamel floral vinery, the whole on ball feet. SIZE: 1-3/4″ h x 4-1/2″ l x 3-1/4″ d. CONDITION: Very good with minimal twisting to lid. 9-23368 (1,000-1,500)
