NEW ENGLAND SHERATON CARVED MAHOGANY SOFA. Circa 1825. The slightly arched crestrail continuing to downswept molded sides. The fronts with reeded facia, the arms with swelled, reeded and ring turned supports centering an over-upholstered rectangular seat. The frame raised on four blocked and ring-turned reeded cylindrical legs terminating in brass-capped casters with four backswept rear legs. SIZE: 35″ h x 76-1/2″ w x 24″ d. PROVENANCE: From a New England Institution. CONDITION: Frame structurally very good. One brass caster absent on proper left center leg. Polished surfaces retaining early finish. 9-22007 (800-1,200)
