FINE NEW ENGLAND SHERATON INLAID MAHOGANY TWO DRAWER WORKTABLE. Second quarter 19th century. Probably Massachusetts. The rectangular top with molded turret corners the edges with contrasting string inlays above the conforming frieze fitted with two drawers with figured veneer panels and cockbeaded edges, the bottom drawer fitted with a silk bag. The whole raised on tapered cylindrical ring turned legs and with ring turned cuffs terminating in tapered cylindrical feet. SIZE: 29″ h x 21-1/2″ w x 16-3/4″ d. CONDITION: The top with old shrinkage cracks. Surfaces cleaned and repolished. Otherwise good. 9-22768 (2,500-3,500)
