AMERICAN CHERRY CHIPPENDALE SIDE CHAIR. Last quarter 18th century, probably Pennsylvania. The serpentine crest rail above the pierced splat joined to the trapezoidal seat frame raised on square molded chamfered frontal legs. The rear legs of tenon construction and backswept. All joined by a recessed box stretcher. SIZE: 37-1/2″ h (back); 16″ h (seat frame) x 21″ w (overall) PROVENANCE: From a Connecticut home. CONDITION: With old cleaned and polished surfaces and with old repairs to proper left stile at crest and with old repairs to splat. Otherwise very good with original slip seat frame and quarter round glue blocks. 9-22102 (150-250)
