CARVED GILT DISPLAYED EAGLE. Second half 19th century. Nicely carved from the solid with detailed plumage rendered in the bird’s head turned to the right. Talons gripping a perch, now absent. SIZE: 14-1/2″ h x 45″ wingspan. CONDITION: Retains all original gilded surfaces with minor losses to gilding on beak and in area of talons. No repairs or restoration noted.
