RARE LARGE CHINESE HUALIMU BRUSH POT. This large and fine rosewood (hualimu) example carved overall with a pastoral treed landscape. One panel illustrating a group of sages inspecting scrolls. The opposing panel depicting three travelers before a pavilion. SIZE: 8″ h x 8-1/2″ dia. PROVENANCE: Property of Crown Prince Aixinjueluo Pujun (1886-1929). From the private collection of the grandniece of the Last Emperor Puyi (reign 1906-1917) of the Qing Dynasty. Granddaughter of Puji and great-great granddaughter of the Dowager Empress Cixi (reign 1861-1908).
