RARE NEW ENGLAND CHERRY 4-DRAWER BLANKET CHEST. Last quarter 18th century, probably New Hampshire, this unusual example simulates a 6-drawer tall chest. The rectangular hinged top with applied molded edge opening above the conforming case to a well, the front simulating two long drawers with thumbmolded edges above four graduated long drawers with thumbmolded edges. The whole on a molded base raised on shaped bracket feet with scalloped returns. Now in a later cream paint. SIZE: 53″ h. x 38-1/2″ overall w. x 36-1/2″ case w. x 19″ d. CONDITION: Replaced brasses and redrilled holes, restoration to bracket feet, replaced hinges. 9-99066 (800-1,200)
