CHRISTOPHER BLOSSOM (American, 1956-) THE WHALING SHIP MORNING STAR. Large oil on canvas nautical scene shows a three mast vessel in calm waters retrieving harpooned whales. Several men with blubber knives are on the edge of the ship and a rowboat is bringing in a recently harvested whale. Signed lower right “Christopher Blossom A.S.M.A. 1980″. Housed in a weathered wood carved frame with gilt trim and linen liner. SIZE: 24″ x 36”. PROVENANCE: Estate of Henry A. Rudkin Jr, (family of the founders of Pepperidge Farm).
