NEW ENGLAND FEDERAL INLAID MAHOGANY BOWFRONT CHEST OF DRAWERS. Possibly Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Circa 1800. The rectangular top with bow front, the edge with saw tooth banded contrasting inlays above the conforming case fitted with four long drawers, each with three panels of figured birch and cross banded. Raised on shaped and flared French feet centering a deep shaped apron. SIZE: 37″ h x 38-1/4″ case w x 21-1/2″ d. CONDITION: Professionally restored and repolished, the period brass hardware is not original to this example. Very good overall. 9-98768 (8,000-12,000)
