Interesting topographical watercolor shows the pond in Central Park having a foreground gondola with gondolier and passengers. The background having a small boat with figures flying American flag. The foreground having a mother and child seated on grassy bank and in the distance several buildings on a grass covered knoll. An arched bridge with two figures at end of pond. Signed lower right “M G W 1864”. Inscribed lower left “Sketched in Central Park, New York – M.G.W. 1864″. Housed in a modern wood molded frame with white matte. SIZE: Sight: 9-3/4″ x 13-1/4”.
