NAPOLEONIC PRISONER OF WAR VALUABLES BOX. First half of the 19th century. The pine box with hinged stepped lid opening to a compartmented paper lined interior. The whole overlaid with bone and ivory, polychrome decorated with carved and pierced fretwork in the Moorish taste, on a sloping plinth raised on bracket feet. SIZE: 5-1/2″ h x 10-3/4″ w x 7-1/4″ d. CONDITION: Structurally good with losses to small pierced carved areas, also losses to areas of border, proper left rear foot missing outer bracket. 9-96353 (500-1,000)
