CANTON COVERED TUREEN. Mid 19th century. This example with canted corners, the conforming dome lid with pomegranate finial. The tureen with sloping sides, the handles in the form of rabbit’s heads, on a conforming footed base. Decorated overall in blue with floral bouquets in urns, the lid decorated with landscape scenes, a man and woman in foreground. SIZE: 8″ h x 13-1/4″ l x 8-3/4″ w. CONDITION: Appears to be in very fine condition overall, showing no restorations under black light, interior lid rim with one chip. 9-97531 (2,250-2,750)
