NEW ENGLAND QUEEN ANNE MAPLE CHEST ON FRAME. Last quarter 18th century, Coastal Massachusetts or Rhode Island. The rectangular dovetailed case with applied molded cornice having 6 graduated thumbmolded long drawers, fitted on a conforming frame with scalloped apron, raised on short cabriole legs on spoon pad feet. SIZE: 62-1/2″ h x 35-3/4″ w (case) x 19-1/2″ d (overall). CONDITION: The chest with cleaned surfaces and later hardware in original holes, backboards original, the frame base somewhat later, made from old timbers. Some damage to thumbmolding, lower drawer right facing. Some damage to base frame molding, left front corner facing. Minor damage to cornice molding, right rear facing. 9-96809 (4,000-6,000)
