THREE WALLACE NUTTING BRANDED CHIPPENDALE STYLE MAHOGANY CHAIRS. Circa 1930. Comprised of two side chairs and an armchair. Each serpentine molded crest rail pierced with carved foliate and shell wreath and outscrolled foliate ears, over three conforming slats. The armchair with serpentine arms on incurved supports, the overupholstered trapezoidal seat, raised on square molded and chamfered frontal legs and backswept rear legs, joined by a recessed box stretcher. The side chairs with trapezoidal slip seats. Each chair branded “WALLACE NUTTING” on the underside of the rear seat rail. Literature: These chairs are model # 359B and 459B illustrated in the “Wallace Nutting ‘Supreme Edition’ General Catalog”, published 1930 and 1934. See illustration p. 69. SIZE: Tallest: 37-3/4″ h.
