COLLECTION OF 23 PERIOD FRENCH BRASS TIEBACKS AND PAIR OF BRASS CANDLESTICKS. Late 18th-early 19th centuries. The tiebacks comprising a group of five 4″ examples cast with flowering plants centering guilloches around a central floral rosette, four 3-1/2″ and six 3″ examples cast with beaded ropetwist edges around a central cone, four 3″ examples with beaded cord edge centering a raised flowerhead, a pair of 2-3/4″ tiebacks stamped with the bust of Alexander in relief, and a small 1-3/4″ pair of stamped brass tiebacks. Together with a pair of 11-1/2″ Neo-Classical French brass candlesticks, each with bobeche and nozzle joined to a columnar shaft, joined to a circular base, cast and tooled overall with a variety of blind fretwork designs. The wicker basket with lid, leather handle and hasps, 8-1/2″ h. x 11-1/2″ l. x 7-1/2″ d. (26 items). SIZE: As noted above. CONDITION: Tiebacks in very fine condition, ten are missing their spike fasteners. Candlesticks very good overall. Basket with one latch absent, one ring fastener disengaged from basket. 9-95626 (400-600)
