UNSIGNED (American, 19th Century) THE BUSY WATERWAY. Oil on canvas mounted on board scene shows a busy waterway with sailboats and steamships. Of interesting note is the two two-man sculling boats. Beyond the water, in the background is a multi-floored, three-tier building flying American flag with an expansive lawn reaching down to the water with people dotting its banks. To the right is a town with buildings and churches. We are not sure of the location but the consignor collected California scenes. Housed in a lemon gold antique frame. SIZE: 14″ x 20″. PROVENANCE: From the Estate of Geraldine Gaba, Scottsdale, AZ. CONDITION: One closed tear in sky, otherwise good. 9-94803 (400-700)
