FREDERICK Y. CHUBB (American, 1938-) CREEK FISHING. Fine oil on board landscape scene shows a man fishing in a small creek having large rocks, sandy and grass banks and small waterfall. The scene is shown amongst tall trees and sloping fields beyond. A small flock of birds fly in a light blue and white cloud sky. Signed lower right “Chubb”. Housed in a period gesso decorated fancy floral decorated gilt frame. NOTE: Chubb was an artist and engraver working in New York and listed in the New York City directories from 1862-66 as an artist. SIZE: 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″. CONDITION: Minor touch up, very good. 9-95060 (1,000-2,000)
