HENRY ARCHIBALD MAJOR (British, 1829-1902) STILL LIFE WITH PEARS, GRAPES AND PLUM. Oil on canvas still life scene shows four pears draped with green and purple grapes with a plum beside. A yellow jacket is atop the plum, a housefly on the pear and a green beetle is on the ground. The fruit are surrounded by green ground cover and bare ground. Signed lower right “HA Major 1888″. Housed in a good antique gilt carved wood frame. SIZE: 12″ x 14”. CONDITION: Craquelure, otherwise very good. 9-95061 (1,000-2,000)
