I. J. TURLYGIN (Russian, 20th Century) CHURCH DAY. Authorized copy of the famous Boris Kustodiev (Russian, 1878-1927) painting. Large oil on canvas scene shows a summer day in a town landscape with five well dressed people in the foreground and buildings and people elsewhere. Unsigned front but inscription, signature and date are on back of canvas. Housed in a stained molded wood frame with gold bead liner. This painting is an authorized copy of the work approved by the Tretyuakov Gallery, Moscow State Museum, “approved for release to dignitaries”. This painting was painted in the 1980’s and the back carries Moscow Authentication stamps. SIZE: 47-1/2″ x 57-1/2″. CONDITION: Very good. 9-92616 (1,200-1,800)
