RARE AMERICAN HOOKED MAT DEPICTING BEAVER. Circa 1900. Woven in charcoal gray, tans, beiges, and green showing a beaver crouched on a mound or dam, a cut tree limb in the foreground beneath leafy branches on a charcoal ground with unusual tasseled ends. SIZE: 41″ x 22-1/2″ overall. PROVENANCE: Found in a cabin in upper New York State. CONDITION: Very good overall, small spots of moth damage, one-inch area unraveling at top left. Has excellent soft colors. 9-92320 (500-1,000)
