FINE CONNECTICUT RIVER VALLEY CHIPPENDALE FAN-CARVED CHERRY TALL CHEST. Circa 1780. The rectangular cove-molded cornice joined to the conforming dovetailed case above a fan-carved central drawer flanked by two pair of short drawers over six graduated thumbmolded long drawers, raised on a molded bracket base with shaped returns. Possibly from the Hartford/Weathersfield, Connecticut area. SIZE: 60″ h. x 38″ case w. x 20″ overall d. CONDITION: The case, backboards, bracket feet, and brass hardware all appear original. The old honey-colored surface professionally refinished and cleaned with minor repairs to bracket feet. 9-92586 (5,500-7,500)
