WALNUT CARVED TALL CLOCK. Two-piece case having a bottom section with central panel having a shield with kings head. Two front corners having a winged figure of a half nude woman/animal. Top waist and hood section having a long door with round pendulum window, carved cherub with crown and crossed musical motif. Side columns have a fruit and nut carving topped by winged cherub heads. Fixed hood with spiral columns, large cornice molding and other decorative carvings. Hood with cornice molding, scrolled crest and mercury face carving. Brass face having enameled numbers has three keyholes and a scene of two figures in a classical setting. Brass works having five chime notes. Key and pendulum present. No weights. PROVENANCE: Fine Bangor, Maine mansion. SIZE: 94” h x 23” at widest x 15-1/2” at deepest. CONDITION: Unknown working order, missing weights. Otherwise very good. 9-74223 (2,500-4,000)
