A. MATTEHIEU (French, 19th/20th Century) DAY OF SAILING. Oil on wood panel shows a small sailboat with people aboard sailing along a beach with crashing waves. Signed lower right “A. Mattehieu”. Also “Ostende 1900”. This is possibly the work of Arsene Mattehieu. Housed in a period gold frame with inner green velvet and gilt liner. SIGHT SIZE: 5-1/2” x 9-3/4”. CONDITION: Surface dirt, otherwise very good. SM 9-74285 (500-700)
