JAMES EDWARD FITZGERALD (American, 1899-1971) REFLECTIONS OF THE OLD MONHEGAN BEAM. Large unsigned oil on canvas scene shows the Island Inn with surrounding buildings. The Inn is reflected on the water in the foreground. According to Ann Hubert, this canvas was painted from the Fitzgerald/Rockwell Kent House looking down over Horn Hill across the meadow to the Island Inn. Housed in its original carved and silver decorated frame with a replaced liner. PROVENANCE: Estate of the artist by bequest to Ann Hubert, Monhegan Island, Maine (Hubert receipt available to purchaser).
