ATTRIBUTED TO LAWTON SILAS PARKER (American, 1868-1954) THE SOUTHERN OCEAN. Pastel seascape shows a three-mast sailing vessel in a blue ocean under blue and white cloud sky. Back of the pastel is written in pencil “Feb 13-14 North Coast of Cuba 6am”. The backboard has old writing “The Southern Ocean Feb 9 1914”. Also a McCaughen & Burr St. Louis, MO. label. Housed in an oak molded wood frame with white matte. SIGHT SIZE: 12” x 9”. CONDITION: Good, broken glass. 9-28996 (300-500)
