JULIAN E LEVI (American, 1900-1982) “UPROOTED”. Oil on canvas abstract scene shows what appears to be trees that have been uprooted in a landscape. Reminiscent of a southwestern type scene. Signed lower left “Julian Levi”. Housed in a magnificent carved wood and gilt deep frame, which is signed by “A. P. F. Inc. Framemakers and Conservators New York City”. On back of stretcher is an applied plaque indicating it was in the collection of the Allied Maintenance Corporation 350 5th Ave. New York. Also a Nordness Gallery New York City label. The frame is numbered “9101” and has a framemakers label. The canvas is dated “1948” on reverse. SIZE: 22” x 16”. CONDITION: Very good. 9-97361 (1,650-1,850)
