GEORGIAN MAHOGANY BUTLER’S TABLE. Last half 18th century. The rectangular paneled top fitted with four hinged demilune sections, each with pierced grip, mounted on a later frame; raised on chamfered, molded, square legs. SIZE: OPEN: 18-1/4″ h. x 36″ l. x 27-1/4″ w. CLOSED: 23″ overall h. x 28-1/2″ l. x 19″ w. PROVENANCE: From an East Sangerville, Maine private collection, by descent from Dr. Samuel Cox Hooker (1864, Brenchley, England -1935, Brooklyn Heights, New York), a sugar chemist, magician, and art collector, to the present owner, a great-grand-daughter. CONDITION: Very good overall, retaining original surfaces and hardware. 9-94921 (400-500)
