WINCHESTER MODEL 1885 HIGHWALL SINGLE SHOT RIFLE. Cal. 32-40. Standard grade rifle with 30” #3 weight round bbl, brass bead front sight and a replacement semi buckhorn rear sight. It has a case colored receiver, lever and buttplate with uncheckered wood with black tipped schnable forearm and straight stock with crescent buttplate. SN 8679. CONDITION: Very fine to extremely fine. Bbl retains 96-98% strong bright original blue with a couple of small nicks. Receiver retains about all of its original case colors, faded but still good and bright on the sides. The lever retains about 50% faded colors and the buttplate 75-80% colors. The stock is sound and retains most of a very professionally restored finish. The forearm has a hairline in the tip, otherwise retains most of its original finish.
