SHARPS BORCHARDT MILITARY RIFLE. Cal .45-70. 30” round bbl. “SC” marked on upper tang indicating issue to South Carolina. The ramrod is a replacement. The rear sling swivel is missing. The gun has been partially refinished with all metal except the buttplate polished, but only a few pieces reblued. SN 19116. CONDITION: The bare metal still shows filing and polish marks with some new pits and light surface rust. Blued parts were apparently done with a torch as they show some scale. Wood has been lightly cleaned but not yet repaired and there are several cracks in front of and behind the receiver. Action is fine. 4-49814 X14 (1,500-2,500)
