MAYNARD MODEL 1865 SPORTING RIFLE. Cal .40. 26” part oct bbl. Standard Mass Arms Co. markings on the right side of the frame and 4-line Maynard patent marks on the left side. Has folding two leaf sight at the rear of bbl, beech folding front sight and Maynard tang sight. SN 20113. CONDITION: 95% bright blue on bbl, worn slightly on the edges with widely scattered specks of rust. Brilliant casehardening colors on the left side of the receiver slightly fading with some spots of rust in front of the frame on the right. Stock retains about 98% of the varnish, which is starting to craze on the right side and has one serious dent and a few smaller ones on the left side. Bore is bright, action is excellent. 4-49274 FS23 (1,500-2,500)
