COLT LIGHTNING BABY CARBINE. Cal. 44WCF (44-40). Standard baby carbine (weighs 5lbs, 6oz)with 20” tapered round bbl, full magazine, pedestal pinched front sight with standard reverse-mounted carbine ladder sight, and a staple and ring in the left side of the receiver. It has straight grain walnut wood with checkered 2-pc forearm and straight stock with carbine buttplate. SN 41467. CONDITION: Fine, retains virtually all of an excellent professionally restored finish. The ladder sight has some fine light pitting and the rampant Colt on the left side of the receiver has been re-cut. The stock has a hairline on the right side of the wrist with an old pinned repair in the same area. Otherwise, the wood is sound. Strong bright shiny bore with scattered light pitting. 4-50044 JR42 (3,000-5,000)
