NORTHERN NEW ENGLAND CHIPPENDALE MAPLE AND CHERRY CHEST OF DRAWERS. Late 18th century. Probably locally made chest of drawers, the rectangular top with molded edges above the conforming dovetailed case fitted with four graduated drawers on a molded base, raised on shaped bracket feet with scalloped apron. SIZE: 32″ h. x 36″ case w. x 19″ d. PROVENANCE: From an East Sangerville, Maine private collection. Acquired from Robert Hall, Dover-Foxcroft, Maine in the 1950’s by the present owner’s parents. CONDITION: Structurally very good; original backboard, top, and feet. Hardware antique, probably not original to chest. 9-94671 (800-1,200)
