WUANITA SMITH (American, 1866-1959) BEACH SCENE. Outstanding unsigned oil on canvas beach scene shows several colorful beach goers with beach umbrellas. Two islands are seen off a large sandy beach showing strollers along the waters edge and bathers in the water. Other side of the board has a landscape scene showing apple trees and a fence in a spring setting. Housed in a fine carved and gilt replacement frame with a Guido Frame Studio label. PROVENANCE: Accompanying the painting is a letter which indicates the painting was given to the letter writer’s husband and her by Ms. Smith in 1945 as a wedding gift. SIZE: 15” x 18”.
