*WINCHESTER MODEL 1897 TRENCH GUN. Cal. 12 ga. Usual configuration with 21” cylinder choke bbl, perforated hand guard with bayonet lug and sling loop. Receiver has a large US and flaming bomb at the left rear side and a small flaming bomb on top of bbl. The buttstock has a stamped #9 or 6 on the right side, otherwise it is unmarked. It has uncheckered wood with small ribbed forearm and pistol grip stock with sling loop. SN 953423. CONDITION: Very fine plus. Bbl and magazine tube retain 95-96% dull original blue. The receiver retains 94-95% strong bright original blue with minor scratches and edge wear. Wood is sound with numerous small scratches in the finish and a couple of bruises on the right side, otherwise retains 85-90% original finish. Bright shiny bore. 4-49613 JR231 (1,750-2,500)
