LANE & READ PERCUSSION FOWLING PIECE. NSN. 16 ga. 48” rnd bbl. Marked “LANE & READ / BOSTON” on the lockplate. There are no markings visible on the bbl. The lockplate and hammer are lightly engraved with bbl and tang matching. The brass triggerguard has relief carved finials with a shield engraved on the bow. The wrist and forearm are checkered. There is a wooden under-rib beneath the bbl. CONDITION: Fine with half of the thinning orig brown remaining on the bbl and light mottled colors on the lockplate. Brass has a mellow to dark patina. Stock retains about half of its oiled finish. Mechanically fine. 4-59444 FS606 (1,500-2,000)
