ANTONIO NICOLO GASPARO JACOBSEN (American, 1850-1921) SURVIVING THE WRECK. A three mast sailing vessel has sunk in stormy seas and a life boat has been tethered to one mast with nine people huddled inside the frigid waters which have iced the sides of the lifeboat. A steam and sail side wheeler has arrived for the rescue. All hands are on deck to assist them. A green heavy surf under gray and light gray skies. Signed lower left “A. Jacobsen 1897”. Unframed.
