Single center stack with two-masts. Several men on deck. Name emblazoned on bow. A green wave with white crest is being cut through by the ship. Painted legend on bottom “S.S., Algiers Off Hatteras Jan 1 1877”. Painting is signed lower right and dated what appears “1870”. Housed in a fine gilt molded wood period frame. PROVENANCE: Sewall Estate, Bath, Maine. SIZE: 22” x 36”. CONDITION: Relined, very good. 9-90160 HP (10,000-15,000)
