ALBERT BIERSTADT (American, 1830-1902) HUDSON RIVER LANDSCAPE WITH FIGURES AND SHEEP. Oil on canvas scene shows cliff side mountains falling to waters edge. Foreground has level area with trees, rocks and cleared area. Two shepherds and shepherdess are seen with two different flocks of sheep. Several birds fly in a pink, yellow and blue sky. Signed lower right “A. Bierstadt”. Housed in a period gesso decorated frame. SIZE: 12” x 24”. CONDITION: Two patches on back of canvas with corresponding inpainting.
