WINCHESTER MODEL 1866 SADDLE RING CARBINE. Cal. 44RF Henry. Standard carbine with 20” round bbl, full magazine, integral front band and sight. It has the early two position flip rear sight and a staple and ring in the left side of the receiver. It has uncheckered wood with straight stock and crescent brass buttplate with trap. The magazine tube is the early type with the screwed in plug. SN 65822. CONDITION: Bbl and magazine tube retain a mottled silver brown patina, the receiver, which was originally nickeled retains a tiny trace of nickel plating around the staple, has been cleaned and polished with light sanding marks. Wood is sound and retains most of an old amateur finish. The rifling in the bore has all been removed with evidence of drill marks. 4-49872 JR140 (1,500-2,500)
