*STEVENS IDEAL MODEL 44-1/2. Cal. 38-40. Standard rifle with 28” No. 2 weight oct to round bbl, German silver Rocky Mountain front sight with Savage Arms marked open rear sight. Case colored receiver with tiny “S” shaped lever, uncheckered wood with semi-schnable forearm and straight stock with crescent steel buttplate. SN 4254. CONDITION: Good. Bbl retains 85-90% blue turning brown with some scattered very fine light surface rust and a few nicks on the oct portion. Receiver retains 15-20% faded case colors with the balance a brown patina. Wood is sound with the forearm retaining 70-75% original varnish with the stock retaining traces of original varnish being mostly a hand rubbed patina. Bore is strong with good shine and moderate pitting. 4-48427 JR666 (400-700)
