TWELVE AMERICAN CHIPPENDALE STYLE CARVED MAHOGANY DINING CHAIRS. Including two arm and ten side chairs. Circa 1910. Each serpentine crest rail with upturned ears joined to the Gothic pierced splat above a trapezoidal slip seat set within a molded rail. Raised on square tapered legs joined by a recessed box stretcher. A nice example of benchmade workmanship. All retain original slip seats, some covered in early needlepoint while others are covered in a silk fabric. SIZE: 38″ h to top of back. CONDITION: All chair retain old finish. Two armchairs with no repairs, one side chair with minor damage to a side stretcher, one side chair with repaired side stretcher and some chewing to the inside of one leg. A third chair missing the cross stretcher with some chewing damage to a leg. All damages appear to be from a pet. 9-91348 (2,400-4,800)
